What is Folkstyle Wrestling

Folkstyle Wrestling is the form of Wrestling that is practiced mostly in American high schools and colleges. It is also known as collegiate wrestling. The object of folkstyle wrestling is to pin your opponent. Failing this, you want to get as many points as possible. Folkstyle scoring focuses mainly on changes in control. Taking an opponent down to the mat, escaping from or reversing control, or turning an opponent's back to the mat are all scoring situations. This differs from other styles such as Freesytle or Greco Roman, which do not encourage escapes or reversals.

WHAT IS IT:
Intensive Folkstyle training for elite athletes who wish to get the best possible workout they can or cannot imagine.

WE WILL:
Teach advanced skills, intensity and character building.

YOU WILL:
Learn great skills on and off the mat.
Be better prepared for your matches, be in better shape, and be better mentally than your opponents.

All wrestlers must have a current 2010 USA Wrestling Card.
Cards will be sold at the tournament.

Competitor Cost: $12 per wrestler
Admission Cost: $4 per adult, $1 per child
Awards: Trophies/Medals for 1st Place, Medals for 2nd, 3rd & 4th
**All brackets are 4-man round robin**
